Ugandan singer Tracy Melon has addressed the controversy surrounding her abrupt exit from a live performance in Mbarara, attributing her actions to what she described as “extreme disrespect” from a fan while on stage.

The incident, which quickly went viral and sparked debate among fans and critics alike, occurred after a concertgoer allegedly touched the singer inappropriately during her performance.

The unexpected moment forced her to cut the show short and leave the stage, leaving fans confused and disappointed.

Speaking out after the backlash, Tracy Melon issued an apology to her supporters, acknowledging that some felt let down by her sudden departure.

However, she maintained that her reaction was justified given the circumstances.

“I apologise to my fans because I let some of them down, but I was reacting to the disrespect I faced, It is the most disrespectful thing which has happened to me before,” she said.

The singer further revealed that the incident left her feeling humiliated, prompting her immediate decision to walk off stage rather than continue performing in an uncomfortable environment.

Her management has since entered discussions with the event promoter in Mbarara to address the situation and prevent similar incidents in the future.

The talks are expected to focus on artist safety and better crowd control measures at public events.

The episode has reignited conversations within the entertainment industry about the safety of performers, especially female artists, and the need for stricter security at live shows.

While some fans sympathized with her decision, others expressed disappointment over the incomplete performance.

Despite the mixed reactions, Tracy Melon’s stance highlights a growing call among artists for respect, professionalism, and safer performance spaces.
