President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has sent a heartfelt message celebrating the 52nd birthday of his son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who currently serves as Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces.
In his message, President Museveni expressed gratitude to God for his family and acknowledged the support of First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni in raising and sustaining the family over the years.
He also praised Gen. Muhoozi for his long service in Uganda’s military and his role in the country’s security structures. Museveni highlighted Muhoozi’s contribution to the historical armed struggle commonly referred to as the resistance, as well as his efforts in strengthening the operational capacity of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and supporting initiatives aimed at addressing corruption within the army.
Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has served in various senior positions within the UPDF over the years, rising through the ranks to become Chief of Defence Forces, the highest military position in Uganda.

The birthday message adds to a long history of public acknowledgment of Muhoozi’s military career and his close involvement in Uganda’s security leadership.
The UPDF remains Uganda’s national army, responsible for defending the country’s sovereignty and supporting regional and international peacekeeping missions.
The message comes at a time when Gen. Muhoozi continues to play a central role in the country’s military leadership, while also attracting public attention due to his high-profile position and family background.
